Pushing Through Setbacks
I recently lost my mother. It’s so difficult to think that I cannot pick up the phone and call her anytime. Yesterday, I fell and sprang my ankle and fractured my foot! Am I unique in having challenges in my life? Of course not! It is up to me to push through my setbacks. Each person has a different way of handling life’s challenges. I try to see the silver lining in each cloud. I reflect, I pray, I talk to trusted friends and family, taking long walks, long baths, long naps.
As adults, educators, parents or professionals who interact with students, we must be cognizant of the fact that children are always watching us and that we should show ourselves to be worthy role models. Certainly, we can tell more about our “constitution” when we are experiencing difficult times in our lives.
It’s easy to be kind, thoughtful, considerate, generous, and even-tempered when everything is going well. Our perseverance, determination, faith, and endurance is most visible as we set our sights on the “goal line” and push through various setbacks. I choose to be victorious.wwhat about you?
