Won’t God Do It: Pastor Karen Thompson

Pastor Karen D. Thompson is my guest on this month’s episode of Won’t God Do It podcast.

Karen D. Thompson was born in Los Angeles, California, She is a member of The Metropolitan Baptist Church of Los Angeles where Reverend Elton Johnson is Pastor. Karen accepted Christ at the age of 13 and has been preaching since the age of 24. Through the many teachings of Bishop Kenneth C. Ulmer, Karen has faithfully stood on the Word of God as in 2 Timothy 4:21 "preach the word, be prepared in season, reprove, rebuke, and exhort with complete patience and teaching.

Bishop Ulmer has taught Karen to preach when people want to hear it and when they don't want to hear it. She is a straight forward preacher, one who dares to stand boldly and declares the message of hope, truth, and prosperity compelling those who seek to find their purpose in life and launch into their destiny. Karen is very unique in the way she fearlessly handles real life situations. One Lord, One Faith, One Baptism.

Pastor Thompson has overcome many obstacles, one being a victim of childhood molestation, which crippled her in her younger years. She held that dark painful secret for over 26 years. It was at that point she finally stood in the strength of God as in Philippians 4:13, "I can do all things through Christ who gives me strength. Karen stopped feeling sorry for herself and realized that the trials she had gone through was designed to set her up to be a living testimony for a dying world. Right after Karen made this decision, God began to change lives through her testimony.

Karen enjoys sharing her testimony of how God changed her from gang banging and smoking marijuana to being and filled wit the Holy Spirit. She's an inspiration to all. She attended Kings College and Seminary. She also attended First Church of God Seminary and ultimately graduated from Bible Believers College and Seminary in 2011. Pastor Thompson lives by the following quote, "If I should gain any praise let it go back to Calvary".
